Information Needed to Submit an Abstract for Poster Presentation

  • Primary Author Information (Name, Credentials, Professional Affiliation, Phone, and Email)

  • Co-Author Information (Name, Credentials)

  • Category (Undergraduate or Graduate Student, Faculty, or Clinician)

  • Title of the Abstract (Study or EBP project)

  • Specific type of abstract (Complete study, In-progress study, or EBP project)

  • Two learning objectives

Abstract Content (in less than 500 words)

  • Title of the Abstract (study or EBP project)

  • Purpose (or objectives of the EBP project)

  • Sample (or EBP target group description)

  • Methods

  • Results (or EBP outcomes)

  • Nursing Implications

  • Conclusions 

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  1. We strongly recommend that you cut/paste your abstract from a Word document into the  submission area.

  2. An individual may submit more than one abstract.

  3. An abstract may only be submitted once. Duplicate abstracts (reporting the same data) that are submitted under a different author will not be considered.

  4. Abstracts must be submitted online by email to

  5. Abstracts must be received by October 1, 2023 at 11:59 pm CST. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be eligible. Individuals will be notified of poster acceptance by October 16, 2023.

  6. Once an abstract has been selected for presentation, it may not be revised prior to the poster presentation at the NWINRC conference. Please proof your abstracts carefully for formatting, spelling and grammar. Double check all sections of the abstract (i.e., title, authors, and abstract body) prior to submission. 

  7. The maximum word count for the body of the abstract is 500 words.

  8. A maximum of 8 author names may be listed on each abstract.

  9. Presenters should use product-based and generic names wherever possible.

  10. Submission of an abstract conveys permission to be printed in the NWINRC's website.

  11. Primary authors who are selected for a poster presentation will be notified by email.

  12. The winning poster from each category (graduate student, undergraduate student, faculty, and clinician) will be selected to also present an a 10 minute oral discussion regarding their topic.

Four poster award recipients will be selected to receive $250.00 (one poster award from each of the categories:

graduate student, undergraduate student, faculty, and clinician will be selected)
